Charlotte Stewart Obituary

Charlotte Stewart ROCKLAND Charlotte (Bent) (Wheaton) Stewart, age 101, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at South Shore Rehab and Skilled Care Center in Rockland, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Retis Wheaton and the late John M. Stewart. Born in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late William and Arabella (Etter) Bent. Charlotte was a graduate of Brockton High School and had lived in many towns in the South Shore area. She worked for many years in the shoe industry and was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Holbrook. She loved to bake and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by a son, Bedford Bud Wheaton of Brockton; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Louise) Fafard of Abington and Mrs. Robert (Charlotte) Svirsky of East Bridgewater; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; three great great great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Catherine Evans of Rhode Island. She was also the mother of the late Shirley Wheaton Leonard; grandmother of the late Donna Leonard Brooks; and sister of the late Merton Bent. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008. at 11 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Visitation will take place one hour prior, from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to St. Johns Episcopal Church, 322 South Franklin St., Holbrook, MA 02343.
