Mildred Howland Obituary

Mildred J. Howland BROCKTON Mildred J. "Dale" (Cross) Howland, age 81, died Nov. 22, surrounded by her loving family, at home. She was born, raised and educated in New York and had been a resident of Brockton for 25 years. She worked at the VA Hospital in Brockton for many years. She traveled around the world and lived at many military installations with her husband and children. She loved to travel and enjoyed history and genealogy. She was a devoted Yankees fan. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter O. Howland. She was the loving mother of Walter W. Howland of Arizona, Mary Ann P. Pigeon of Bridgewater, Muriel L. Wright and Patricia A. Howland, both of Texas, Arlene F. Cannon of Virginia, Ernest P. Howland, Sharon M. Howland and Jennifer Rooslet, all of Brockton and Michael Howland of Minnesota; sister of the late William Cross and Muriel Corgan; survived by 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 South Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, Wednesday, at 9:15 a.m followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Randolph. Donations may be made in Mildred's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
