Michael J. Murphy LOWELL Michael Joseph Murphy, 68, of Lowell, died Nov. 24, at his home. Born in Brewer, Maine, he was a son of the late William F. and Marjorie L. (Nadeau) Murphy. Michael was an active member of St. Michael's Church in North Andover. He was a longtime Sears employee, until his retirement in 2000, a call firefighter for over 25 years with the Whitman Fire Department and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret (Deacutis) Murphy of Lowell; his children, Gregory Murphy and his wife Amy of Marlborough, Conn., Dartha Flaherty and her husband Kevin of Middleboro, Christopher Murphy of East Hartford, Conn., Andrew Murphy of Derry, N.H., Jennifer Versoy and her husband Lincoln of Holbrook and Joseph Murphy of Lowell. He is also survived by his sister, Rosanna Dwyer of Abington; grandchildren, Kristen, Kenneth, Rebecca, Joshua, Lucy, Maddison, Lilly and Evan; and was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia and Mary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m., at St. Michael's Church, in North Andover. Burial will be Monday, Dec 1, in Holy Family Cemetery, at 11 a.m. Family and friends may call Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover, MA 01845.
