Robert McCoy Obituary

Robert M. McCoy BROCKTON Robert M. McCoy, age 70 years, of Brockton, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, in Brockton, after a period of failing health. He was the loving husband of Maureen A. (Kinsella) McCoy for 49 years. Born Monday, Aug. 8, 1938, in Jamestown, N.Y., he was a son of the late Myrl H. and Loretta C. (Peterson) McCoy. Robert was raised in Akeley, Pa., and was a 1957 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Pennsylvania and had lived in Brockton for the past 37 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Polaroid Company after 30 years of service. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed taking care of his yard and most of all spending time with his family. In addition to his wife Maureen of 49 years, he is survived by five children, Tammie C. Horgan and her husband John of Amesbury, Michael S. McCoy of Plymouth, Timothy P. McCoy of Taunton, William R. McCoy of Brockton and Gerald A. McCoy and his wife Isabel of Stoughton; six grandchildren, Kelsey Wedge, Jack Horgan, Grace Horgan, Shaun McCoy, Sam McCoy and Ben McCoy; a sister, Brenda Baxter of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation will take place Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, from 6-8 p.m., in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. For additional information or to send a condolence, please visit www.d-mfh.com.
