Wallace Renton Obituary

Wallace J. Renton Jr. BRIDGEWATER Wallace J. "Wally" "Jim" Renton Jr., 79, went to be with the Lord with family at his side, Dec. 7, 2008. Wally was born, rais-ed and educated in Brockton. He was a son of the late Sarah (Murdock) and Wallace J. Renton Sr. He lived in Bridgewater since moving from Brockton in 1973. Wally was a graduate of Fitchburg State College and was an electro mechanical engineer. He was employed by Compu Graphic in Wilmington. He was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of the American Legion, Baalis Sanford Lodge AF& AM in Brockton, Puritan Lodge AF & AM in Bridgewater, Shedad Grotto, Brockton Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Scotland Links Golf Course Commission and Central Square Congregational Church in Bridgewater. Wally is survived by a loving wife, Elizabeth A. (Folger) Renton; daughters, Kathleen B. Belville of Lakeville, Paula A. Burge of Orleans, Millicent D. Stevens of Harwich; brother, Arthur B. Renton of Oregon; sister, Marilyn Garcia of California; and brother, W. Leslie Renton of Rhode Island. He is also survived by five grandchildren; one predeceased granddaughter; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours Friday, 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., and funeral service Saturday, at 11 a.m., will be held at Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, followed by the interment at Purchade Cemetery in Middleboro. Dear Betty,

Nick and I are so sorry to have missed Wally's funeral. We didn't hear of his passing until we got a Christmas card from Margie. Wally was a great guy and will surely be missed by all.
