Florence Souza Obituary

Florence Souza MIDDLEBORO Florence (Lemos) Souza, 87, of Carmen Park Drive, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Tufts Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Donald Souza. Born in Fairhaven, she was a daughter of the late Joseph S. and Jesuina (Costa) Lemos. Mrs. Souza was a member of Saint Josephs Church. She was a charter member of the Holy Ghost Society in Mattapoisett. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves one son, Ronald R. Souza and his wife Linda of Middleboro; one daughter, Carolyn Van Cor and her husband Peter of Woodstock, Vt.; three sisters, Maxine Faustino of Fairhaven, Olivia Piela of Fairhaven, Josephine Pimental of Dartmouth; four grandchildren, Tanya Kistel, Holly Cummings, Kelly Souza and Carey Souza; three great-grandchildren, Justin Cummings, Dylan Cummings and Grant Kistel. Mrs. Souza was the sister of the late Mary Costa and Bella Matheson. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, from 2-6 p.m., in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date in Saint Anthonys Cemetery, North Street, Mattapoisett.
