George McNeil Obituary

LYNCHBURG, Va. George McNeil, of Lynchburg, formerly of Randolph, Mass., passed away Aug. 14, 2009, after a long illness. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He completed two tours of duty and was a Purple Heart recipient. George was employed at Shaws Warehouse for 27 years. He was a son of the late Jim and Ruth McNeil; and brother of the late Ralph McNeil. He is survived by three sisters, Mary of Randolph, Jean of Hull, Mass., and Cathy of Lynchburg; nieces, Dawn and Suzanne; and a nephew, Mason from Lynchburg. Services were private.

I was sad to hear of Butch losing his battle with cancer, he should have enjoyed many more years, but that decision isn't in our hands, God saw fit to relieve him of his pain and bring him home. Butch was a kind man, he was so good to my mother, I will never forget that, he did his parents proud. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. Cousin Cheryl
