John Ford Obituary

MILTON John H. Ford passed away in Milton, on Aug. 14, 2009. Born in Avon, Ma on June 11, 1935. He was the son of Willard Ford and Lousie C. Littlefield of Avon. A member of the Chicago carpenters union for more than 25 years, he worked the interior finishwork of many of the most prominent skyscraper office buildings in Chicago. He wintered in Key West, Florida for many years before moving permanently to Key West in the mid-1990's. He leaves behind a sister, Grace, of Normal, Ill., and Patricia, of Lakeville; six children, Bill Ford of Nashville, Tenn., John Ford of Sylmar, Calif., Charles Ford of Plymouth, Kathleen Cittel of Oceanside, Calif., Maureen Ford of Santa Cruz, Calif. and Steven Ford of Santa Cruz; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. During his life, wherever he lived, he and a small group of close friends consistently made sure that the local tavern owner had a lively crowd and never a worry of a slow business week. His family will spread his ashes over the waves of the Southern Florida Keys. A family memorial dinner was held in lieu of services.
