Clifford Shurtleff Obituary

Clifford Shurtleff Taunton Clifford Shurtleff, age 73 years, of Taunton, formerly of Plympton and Lakeville, died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at Morton Hospital, Taunton, after a period of failing health. He was husband of the late Pamela I. Shurtleff, who predeceased him on April 20, 2007. They had been married for 37 years. Born in Plympton, he was a son of the late Clifford Sr. and Alice M. (Shattuck) Shurtleff. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was employed as a mail handler and machinist for the U.S. Post Office, in Boston, where he retired after 32 years of service. He is survived by one son, Tony L. Jones of Quincy; three daughters, Paula Jones of New Jersey, Angie Jones of Italy and Debbie Jones of Taunton; one brother, Franklin Shurtleff of Florida; two sisters, Anne Deaton of South Carolina and Florence Silvia of Taunton; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was brother of the late Gladys Shurtleff. He attended the Baptist Church of All Faiths, Taunton, and the Baptist Church, South Carver. He was an avid baseball and football fan. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at 1 p.m., at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St., Middleboro. Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
