Rose Stowell Obituary

Rose Anne Stowell Santa Clara, Calif. Rose Anne Stowell was born on Nov. 28, 1928, in Kingston, Mass., the daughter of Jose and Julia Lopes. In 1946, Rose, along with Glenn Stowell, graduated from Kingston High School and they were later married on Feb. 19, 1955. They raised their family in Holbrook, Mass. The family relocated in 1976 to Santa Clara, where she was employed by the Santa Clara school district, retiring in 1995. Rose was active in the community, an avid golfer, loved to travel, loved to spend time with her grandchildren, enjoying time in Pacific Grove and playing Mexican train with friends and family. Rose had been involved in a variety of charitable efforts including the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days and Relay for Life. Rose unexpectedly left us on Nov. 2 as a result of complications from chemotherapy she was receiving to combat breast cancer. Preceded in death by beloved son Philip, her father Jose and sister Alice. Rose is survived by her loving family, including her husband, Glenn; her mother, Julia Lopes; her children, David (Katy), Paul (Melanie), Maureen (Todd) and Mark (Sobha); and seven grandchildren, Joseph, Philip, Courtney, Madison, Kiley, Mason and Allison. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society in Roses name. Her family and friends will miss her greatly. Services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingston on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m.

You will truly be missed by all those you have touched in your life. Our boys will always remember those colorful Easter chickens you got Maureen & Todd and how we adopted them. Both ended up being roosters! Rest in peace in the comfort and presence of the lord. You truly are an angel. With love, Scott, Heynia, Ryan, Devin & Brandon Cooley
