Daniel A. Helms

Daniel A. Helms Whitman Daniel A. Helms, 24, died Sunday in Brockton Hospital, after a brief illness. He was a son of Dorothy (Dodge) and David Lemieux of Whitman and Arthur S. Helms Jr. of Abington. Daniel was born in Boston, brought up in Whitman, a graduate of South Shore Vo-Tech, Class of 2002. He was a 3rd year apprentice at the Walsh Mechanical in Abington and was a member of the Sheet Metal Union, Local 17. Daniel loved working on cars, riding motorcycles, enjoyed computers and spending time with family. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Roger and Shirley Greenough of Abington, Helen Lemieux of Duxbury; his great-grandmother, Mary E. Smith of Whitman; his sister, Samantha Lemieux of Whitman; his fiance, Jessica Murphy of Rockland; many aunts, uncles and cousins. His funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m., in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle), Whitman. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
