Bruce Beuttel Obituary

Bruce S. Beuttel Middleboro Bruce Shepard Beuttel, 68, of Middleboro, formerly of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Sunday at Morton Hospital in Taunton after being stricken ill at home. He was the husband of Victoria (Schultz) Beuttel for the past 23 years. Born in Hampton, Va., on Feb. 22, 1939, a son of the late Otto and Helen (Shepard) Beuttel, he was raised in Mansfield and was a graduate of Mansfield High School. He continued his education at Northeastern University in Boston earning a bachelors degree in business administration. He was employed by Liberty Mutual of Hingham for 40 years as a claims supervisor. Bruce had several hobbies he enjoyed, including, biking, boating, camping, photography and fishing in the Florida Keys. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Peter Beuttel of Plymouth, Barbara Heikkla of Michigan, Brian Beuttel of Raynham, Danielle Beuttel of Middleboro and Andrea Beuttel of Middleboro; two aunts, Frances Pilkington of Mansfield and Marion Wheeler of Mansfield; and five grandchildren. He was also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. Schuyler Shepard. A memorial service to celebrate Bruces life will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Orthodox Congregational Church, 17 West St., Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruces memory may be sent to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
