Doug- In 30 years of entertaining there was nothing I enjoyed more than having Ray join me onstage to sing. I have thought of him often. What fun we had at the C-House! Scott" the cat" Anderson

Ann,

There is no doubt that Raymond D. Russell went straight to heaven. Through Ray, we witnessed the Angles surround him in his final days and guide him on his final journey home. Ray is now in a place where everything is just how it should be; flawless beach days, plenty of sharpies on hand, the daily newspapers right “on time” and no worries.

I feel blessed to have witnessed the deep and unconditional love that you two shared. You were the BEST advocate that anyone could ever hope for and you are an inspiration to all of us. Not only to your friends and family but to the medical team who undoubtedly learned a few things from YOU.

I will always treasure all Ray’s quirky little ways and have even adopted a few. You’ll be surprised how handy a sharpie marker comes in handy. I will also treasure our special times over the years; trips to the Cape, dinners together at your house, and all my sports questions for Ray like, “why doesn’t the pitcher ever bat, what’s the difference between the American League and the National League, are we going to the playoffs?

He was a MAN among men and will be deeply missed. He will live on forever and ever in our hearts.

Peace be with you and everyone who knew Ray.

Lisa

Dear Annie,
What can we say. You have been a devoted wife and a advocate for Ray these past eight months in the hospital. I first remember meeting Ray when Jim brought Ray by while they were delivering Thanksgiving baskets. We all remember him as a good friend, singing Roy Oberson songs and best of all enjoying his strolls or sitting with his Herald newspaper at Nantasket beach.
He will be missed by all the Cicchese family.
Love, Jim, Liz, Bill, Cathy and Peggy Cicchese and Rita Bryant

I have to say that Ray Russell had the best rendition of "crying" by Roy Orbison that I was ever so lucky enough to hear. If you were lucky enough to be in the room whenever he sang; well then maybe you will agree as I do that "Roy" himself..was a HUGE fan of Ray, and there to meet our friend as he went home. ...Love you Ray, RIP, Love T.
