Virginia Worthen Obituary

BRAINTREE Virginia (Perry) Worthen, 95 years of age, passed away on Sunday April 20, 2008 at the Patriots Colony Convalescent Center in Williamsburg, Virginia. She had lived in Virginia for approximately one year and had formerly resided at the Village at Duxbury, Massachusetts. Prior to residing in Duxbury she was a Braintree Resident for many years. She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Braintree and the Friends of the South Shore Hospital. She is the wife of the late Eugene P. Worthen who died in 1969. She is survived by two loving sons: Roger P. Worthen married to Barbara Worthen of Williamsburg, Virginia and Richard Worthen marred to Marti Worthen of Mooresville, North Carolina. She is the devoted grandmother of Andrew Worthen of North Chelmsford, Ma, Elizabeth Robb of Bozeman, Montana and Carrie Christofferson of Kaysville, Utah. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street BRAINTREE on Friday at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Richard Hotchkin pastor of the First Congregational Church of Braintree will officiate. Burial will follow at the Village Cemetery, WEYMOUTH LANDING. There will be an opportunity for visiting immediately prior to the funeral service. Memorial Donations may be sent to the First Congregational Church of Braintree, 12 Elm Street Braintree Square, MA. 02184 or to the Friends of the South Shore Hospital, 55 Fogg Road, South Weymouth MA 02190.
