Stanley Smith Obituary

Braintree Stanley M. Smith, age 81, of Braintree on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Milton Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Smith was born and raised in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He lived in Montreal for 10 years before moving to Braintree in 1962. Stanley was a mechanic for the Polaroid Company for 10 years before retiring in 1988. Prior to that, he was a mechanic for many years for Chrysler automobile dealerships in the Boston Area. Mr. Smith was a member of the Braintree Yacht Club and the Rockland Eagles. Beloved husband for 58 years of Edith F. (DesRoches). Devoted father of Brian Smith of Hanover, Coleen Orcutt of West Bridgewater, Lynn MacDonald of Plymouth, Blair Smith of Hanson, Pamela Cusick of Rockland, and Laura Lee Sirrico of Plymouth. Beloved brother of Elda Jay of Halifax, Nova Scotia Loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Stanley was grandfather of the late Jason Adelsberg. Funeral from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St. Weymouth on Friday, April 25 at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Burial in Blue hill Cemetery, Braintree.
