On this Mother's Day

A letter of love and thanks...

Dearest Mom,

You will always be admired as a person of strength and intelligence. To have gone through and handle the many curves in the road life threw at you, and still be able to smile and have a warm greeting for one and all is a testament to the type of person you were. We can only hope to aspire to be able to handle such adversity with the strength of spirit you displayed. And yet beneath all of the armor you wore so convincingly was a loving, caring mother and wife who always put her family first.

Your love and compassion for animals growing up on a farm in Upstate New York was passed on to all of us. We will always look back with warm memories to our annual family summer trips you planned, especially those back to, as you so put it, "God's Country" in Upstate New York. It is only fitting that your final resting place is near the farm you so dearly loved in "God's Country".

We want to also thank you for instilling in us a set of values and life's lessons that are with us every day....

Thank you - For your pearls of wisdom, which we still fondly quote today.......
You cannot be shot for what you think!
Shut your mouth and open your eyes....And you will be amazed at what you hear!
Get your work done first - For it will make your free time that much more rewarding!
And of course - Always wash your hands before you eat!!

Thank you - For being the "Captain" that always kept the Jackson Family Ship on the right course. That included keeping the "First Officer" (aka Dad) in line - A full time job all by itself!

Thank you - For your comforting words of encouragement, along with a strong hand to help us maneuver our own curves in the road of life...

Although we may have not seen eye to eye on a subject or two (or three or four), please know that you always had and always will have a special place in our hearts.
You will be with us in spirit wherever we go, forever.

You would say sometimes you were misunderstood (Even as a die hard Yankees fan)...But not by your family....We understood....And as a result we are who we are today because of you....I will be forever grateful for taking the opportunity to tell you that the last time I saw you.....

May God comfort you and keep you in everlasting peace - A peace that sometimes eluded you in life.

With all of my love and thanks, always.

Your loving son,

Mark

An Irish Prayer

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Mark and Family,
Life is difficult as we all get older. May you keep your mom close and always talk about her. Live her ways and remember her calling your name.
Anything we can do, please don't hesitate to call.
xo, Chris and Paul
