Bethany and Cynthia-
My heart goes out to you both. Richard was one of my very best friends going on 20 years, and none were more dependable or kind. I am certain he is in a better place now, but our lives are all diminished by his passing.

During the past year, unfortunately, there have been many sad headlines about things that have happened here in Randolph but none as sad as the loss of my friend Rich. He and I had many long chats about the town, our personal lives and interests, and philosophy in general. As I frequently visit Town Hall for a variety of purposes, I always enjoyed stoping by to say hello to Rich, and he never failed to offer at least some of his time to respond. It is impossible to understand or explain why such tragedy strikes young people. All I can offer are a few words to you Bethany, your entire family, and eventually to be conveyed to Cynthia when she is old enough to understand them, and they are to assure you that there are so many, many people from the Randolph Town Family who share your grief, that I hope it helps even a little to lighten the weight of your loss. Rich was, and shall always be in my memory (and, I'm certain, in the memories and hearts of all of us), what in Jewish tradition is referred to as a "mensch:" a truly good soul who spends his life demonstrating a genuinely selfless love for others. May Rich rest in peace and may your faith help to console your aching hearts.

Bethany, Cynthia and Family -
I have known Ricky since 6 grade as he sat in front of me for the next 7 years and together we moved on to attend UMass Amherst. We continued to see each other regularly as I saw Rick through his love of this town and its politics. Ricky was a great guy, intelligent, funny and kind and will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Coleen

The Biggest Heart

My Family, I can't even begin to express how much I loved and respected our Rick.
From his childhood through fatherhood he
unconditionally gave his love,compassion,
and friendship to everyone around him. Rick was not a man of many words but his actions spoke for him. Rick was a tower of strength through many hard times in our lives and helped me so often.
Bethany, you and precious Cynthia brought a joy to my cousin that cannot be justified by a few words, Thank you. We all know
Rick was a special human being are so blessed to have had him our my lives even if just for a little while. My deepest
sympathy to you all.

Bethany and family,
I was so shocked when I heard about Rick's passing. I am a fellow Past Grand Knight of Vera Cruz Council (1991-1992). I was also the treasurer when Rick was Grand Knight. I am only a few years older than him. We worked together on a lot of committees and we always had the best interest of the organization first. It was never about us. He will be greatly missed.

Unfortunately my wife and I will be out of town during the wake and funeral but you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Rick, rest in peace

Dear Bethany and Cynthia,

My deepest sympathy to you both. Rich was a gentle, kind, and loving human being; a wonderful husband and father. He will be missed by all who had the honor to know him.

I will always remember the first day he walked into my office asking how he would get involved with student government at UMass Boston. I have treasurered our continued friendship and his sharing of milestones since he graduated. May he rest in peace.
