Carol Norton Obituary

Marshfield Carol A. (Sawyer) Norton, of Marshfield, died peacefully at her home May 26, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 29, 1944 in Winthrop. Daughter of the late Midge and Peggy Sawyer. Graduated from Winthrop High School in 1962. She married Michael J. Norton, Jr., retired Lt. of the MA State Police on October 21. 1967. Lived in Marshfield for 39 wonderful fulfilling years. Carol worked over 25 years in the retail clothing industry. Carol was the beloved and beautiful wife of her husband Michael. She was a dedicated and loving mother to Keith A. Norton and his wife Melissa and Holly M. E. Kiziuk and her husband Michael, all of Marshfield. For the past four years she has devoted her life to her five adoring grandchildren, Nadja Kiziuk, twins - Katerina and Brendan Kiziuk, Ava and Gianna Norton, who will always love and miss their "Mimi". Also survived by her sister Diane Dalton and her husband Bob of Portland, ME and her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Carol spent many of her young years sailing at the Cottage Park Yacht Club in Winthrop and sunning herself on the beach there. She spent her early married years with her husband's trooper friends and their wonderful wives. She was a caring and amazing mother who truly enjoyed spending her time with her two children and her grandbabies. Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the South shore Hospital, Mass General Hospital and South Shore Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations to be sent to Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr., Braintree, MA 02185. Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., (Rte. 139) Marshfield, Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann by the Sea Church at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Winslow Cemetery, Marshfield.
