Colin MacGillivray Obituary

Dorchester Colin Francis Frank MacGillivray, a retired supervisor for the MBTA, died Tuesday May 27 at Caritas Carney Hospital. He was 82 years old. Born and raised in Brookline, he graduated from Brookline High School in 1943, where he played football, basketball and baseball. Mr. MacGillivray served in the US Navy during WWII. He joined the MBTA and retired as a supervisor in 1988 after 37 years of employment. A member of the Carmens Union Local 589, Stephen F. Rutledge VFW Post 864 of Brookline and George Wright Golf Course, Mr. MacGillivray was active in youth sports in Dorchester, as past president of the Millstream Little League and former baseball coach for St. Marks Church CYO. He was a longtime resident of Dorchester. Beloved husband of Pauline A. (Connolly) MacGillivray. Loving father of Ronald MacGillivray of Norwell, Joyce A. Sugrue of Quincy, Colin MacGillivray of Norwell and Paul MacGillivray of Dorchester. Grandfather of Colin, Mark and Michael MacGillivray and Kayla Sugrue. Brother of the late Warren MacGillivray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Marks Church, Dorchester, Monday June 2 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, MILTON, Sunday 3-7 .p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Dear Pauline, Ron, Joyce, Colin, and Paul,
Please accept my deepest sympathies on the death of your beloved husbad and father. He was such a wonderful man to all. Pauline, I remember our days at Carney and how Frank would drop you off and pick you up so we could go work in the old mailroom. That brings back so many fond memories.
