Howard Mayers Obituary

BROCKTON Howard G. Mayers, of Brockton, formerly of Holbrook, died at the age of 84, June 12, 2008. Beloved friend of Elizabeth "Betty" Crandlemere of Holbrook. Father of Marcia Jakubowicz of Lancaster and Karen Lussier of So. Easton. Dear grandfather of Amie and Eric and great-grandfather of Logan. Also survived by his "Grandchildren" Kristen Abbott and her husband Rick of Holbrook and Cheryl Stibel and her husband Jeff of FL. Mr. Mayers was born in Boston and had been living in Holbrook for 25 years before moving to Brockton 3 years ago. Howard was a former auxiliary police officer for the towns of Sharon and Holbrook. He was a W.W. II U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the William B. Dalton American Legion Post , Holbrook, the Holbrook Sportsman Club and a member of the Blue Knight. He was also an avid Ham Radio Operator. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St., (Rte. 37) Holbrook. Funeral Services Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Holbrook. Mr. Mayers,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice-first for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and secondly for the citizens of Sharon and Holbrook when you served as an auxillary police officer. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
