Winifred Gormley Obituary

Quincy Winifred "Winnie" Gormley of Quincy died on June 22, 2008. Devoted sister of William Gormley and his wife Adele of Quincy. Cherished aunt of Robert Gormley and his wife Lauren of Quincy, Britton Whitney of Duxbury, Lynn Giroux of Bradford, ME, and Laura Clarke of Woodstock, GA. Winnie was also lovingly survived by many great nieces and nephews. Winnie was a secretary for Standard & Poor's for over 45 years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Our Lady of Miraculous Medals Society. Winnie loved animals, gardening and doing crossword puzzles. She was very charitable and gave for many years to Catholic Church organizations, WGBH and the Humane Society. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Thursday at 10 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Joseph's Church, Quincy at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Winifred Gormley may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute by sponsoring the Pan-Mass Challenge at www.pmc.org or 77 4th Avenue, Needham, MA 02494.
