Nana
We are about to enter 2009, the first calendar year of my life you are not a part of. There are so many things that have happened since June that I hope you have seen from up above. There have been birthday's and pregnancy announcements that have come and gone where we knew you were watching. There was Thanksgiving at Sunshine's where we all said what we were thankful for. I said that I was thankful for the few months that I was able to live there earlier this year and spend so much time with you. I will never forget that and am so fortunate to have been able to spend that time there. I spent my first Christmas in Minnesota with all of Nicole's family this year and when went to their church where they did a candlelight service all I could think of was all the trips to the Monestary in Kennebunkport and the snow and cold during Christmas Prelude and how often you were a part of our Christmas celebration and all of the parades we marched in (you remember when you were in the newspaper two years in a row for the Memorial Day parade's down the 'Port'?). And the New Year's Eve that you were kind enough to host me and about 7 of my friends from high school for First Night in Boston. I am so lucky that I had a Nana like you who I was able to visit so often and who visited us so often, who made every visit special from the Cream of Wheat breakfast to going "Chinky" to just sitting around the kitchen table talking or playing Tripoli with all the people that came to your house to visit you, regardless of what Frosty thought of them, they still came over. Thank you for teaching me to play Cribbage, Backgammon and for believing in each and every one of us no matter what we wanted to do and for accepting our spouses into your family with open arms. You told Deb that Nicole would be good for me and I am forever grateful to you for pointing her out. It's been a hard 6 months since June with just about everyday reminding me about you in some way. I know that's not a bad thing, but I wanted you to know that I really miss you so much, and I hope you are now out of pain and are no longer hurting and that you can write again, wear rings, watches (you had so many) and that your hands are warm (Although I'd love to be able to heat up your hand warmers for you).
I love you Nana and thank you for everything you did for me and for all of us. I miss you very much.
Love,
GJ

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my good friend, Celia. I worked at Dunkin with her for the 24 years I was there. Since loosing my Mom several years ago, Celia was the person who most reminded me of my Mom and was always there with great advice. (I always copied exactly what she did with her 401K !ha).
I have so many great memories of Celia. She was always upbeat and caring with the greatest sense of humor. I remember going onto her computer to show her something very important (how to e-mail her grandchildren) and found the keys stuck together with jelly from her a.m. donut fix.
We shared as many laughs as lunches at LaScala. She spoke often about her wonderful family whom she loved and enjoyed so much.
I, as all who knew her, were privileged to have done so.....
If I should be as lucky as Celia to see my great grandchildren, I will be happy to be called "Old Nana" and think of my friend...

Ma,
Not a moment goes by that I don't think of you.
I keep going for the phone, wanting to call you to see how you are feeling or to tell you something about the kids.
My heart is heavy, but I know you are in a better place.
All my love always Ma,
Love Debbie
