Paul Degrenier Obituary

Pembroke Paul L. DeGrenier passed away at Brigham & Womens Hospital after a period of failing health on June 23, 2008. He was 73 years old. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Weymouth. Paul had lived in Pembroke since 1971. Marine Veteran of the Korean & Vietnam Wars, he was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal with combat V, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal and Republic Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. Paul was a 20 year Veteran. He also had a delivery service with the former Grossmans Company. He also retired after 20 years as a product supervisor with the Foxboro Co. in Bridgewater. Paul enjoyed golf and was a late member of the Top Three Retired Assoc. and Hanover American Legion. Beloved wife of 52 years of Carol A. (Melanson) DeGrenier. Father of Paul M. and his wife Lynn DeGrenier of Bangor, Me., Duane D. DeGrenier of Marshfield, Cheryl A. Luddy of Pembroke and Steven J. and his wife Deborah DeGrenier of Abington. Brother of Joseph DeGrenier of Venice, Fl, Eleanor DeGrenier of Weymouth and the late John DeGrenier. Grandfather of Geoffrey, Jessica, Patrick, Chantal, Lauryl, Noelle, Kyle, Justin and Brandon. Funeral from the South Weymouth McDonald Funeral Home, 809 Main St. (Rt.18 opp. South Shore Hospital) Saturday at 8:30 followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theclas Church, Pembroke at 10:00 oclock. I served with Paul in the Marine Corps when he was a Master Sergeant. I can pay him no higher compliment than to say he was a good Marine and it was an honor and a pleasure to serve with him.
