Mr. Mason,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WW II as a crewman aboard the B-29 "Super Fortress" Bomber. The men who flew the B-29 were some of the unsung heroes of the War. The flew in a plane that had been rushed into combat without proper testing and flew round trip missions of 2,000 or more miles-mostly over water to bomb targets in Japan and had to deal with anti-aircraft fire and suicidal Japanese fighter attacks as well the Jet stream that would throw a plane around the sky and if on return to their base in a damaged plane-had to run the risk of ditching in the Pacific Ocean. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
