Frank Gallant Obituary

Dorchester Frank "Francis" P., son of the late Frank and Margaret (Poirier) Gallant of Dorchester, went home to God on July 5, 2008 surrounded by his family. He was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada Feb. 23, 1914. At the age of 10, he moved to MA where he lived and attended school in Dorchester. He served 4 years in the U.S. Naval Reserve at Squantum Air Station. He established Gallant National Aviation Supply Co. in 1936 at Boston Municipal Airport. During WWII, he supported the war as a manager at a government glider factory in NY. In 1949, Frank moved to Quincy where he made his life for 59 years as a faithful communicant of the Holy Trinity Parish. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Local 33, for over 50 years. Until retirement, he worked as a master carpenter and foreman for Scott & Duncan. He was the beloved husband of the late Thelma M. (Drown) Gallant and was a devoted brother of Lucile Martha Gowett of Dorchester and Joseph and Albert Gallant of Cape Coral, FL. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Arthur and Lawrence Gallant and his sisters Rita Gallant, Marie Amicangelo, and Rita Richardson. He was a loving father to Frankline C. & her husband Jack Tusini of N. Fort Myers, FL, Janet M. and her husband Paul N. Chambers of Hingham, Nancy and her husband Jack Hayes of Quincy, Jeanine "Jen" & her husband John Eppley of Haverhill, and Patricia Horne & Dominick Venterilli of Quincy. He was a cherished grandfather to 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and beloved uncle to many nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Friday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. hey bumpy its stephan or (big guy) as you used to call me =) i miss you so much bumpy seeing you at your wake was so hard i never got to say goodbye but i know your not in pain anymore and your where you should be with foffy. A golden heart has stopped beating hard working hands at rest, god broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best. Rest Easy bumpy i love you and miss you forever
