Salvatore Forgione Obituary

North Weymouth Salvatore Forgione "Sal", age 88, of No. Weymouth, formerly of E. Boston, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Sunday, July 6, 2008 after a long illness. Born in Boston, raised and educated in E. Boston. Resident of No. Weymouth for the past 57 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired in 1970 as a Chief Warrant Officer, after retiring from the Army went to work as a School Bus Driver in the town of Milton and retired as a driver in 1988. He was a member of Weymouth Sons of Italy and Weymouth Lodge of Elks. Beloved husband of the late Mary L. (Meallo) Forgione. Loving father of Robert Forgione of N. Weymouth and Vincent Forgione of Henderson, NV. Devoted grandfather of 5 grandsons and a great-grandaughter. Brother of Millie Hickey of Pembroke and Ernest Forgione of Woodstock, VT. Visitation will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, E. WEYMOUTH on the corner of Middle and Charles Sts., Thursday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Albert the Great Church, 1140 Washington St., Weymouth, MA 02189. mcdonald-funeralhomes.com

Dear Family,
I drove a school bus with Sal for many years. He spoke often and lovingly about his boys and the love of his life, his dear wife. I think of him often and will keep him and you all in my prayers.
