Richard Gardner Obituary

Buzzards Bay Richard P. Gardner of Buzzards Bay and formerly of Rockland, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at the age of 90. He was the husband of the late Edna (Wright) Gardner. Mr. Gardner was an Army veteran of World War II. He was the father of John Gardner of E. Bridgewater, David Gardner of Whitman, Richard Gardner, Jr. of Norwood, Brian Gardner of Hanover, Bonnie Gardner of Rockland, Beth Murphy of Hingham and the late Stephen Gardner. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Private funeral services were held on Thursday, July 10th at St. Margarets Catholic Church in Buzzards Bay. Burial followed in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Mr. Gardner,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
