Garrett Winn Obituary

Norwell Garrett Paul Winn peacefully passed away on July 7, 2008. Garrett will live in our hearts always, and be known as a stellar father of his four amazing daughters: Meaghan, Andrea, Tracie, and Brianna of Westwood. Garrett spent his youth in Milton (MHS 1975), became an accomplished Computer Engineer (A.S./Wentworth Institute of Technology), continued in Management (B.S./Lesley College), and recently worked as a Facilities Engineer. His greatest love was being with his girls, as Dad, coach, storyteller, rock and roller, football, The Patriots and motorcycling. Garrett also leaves his dearest brother John, his wife Darlene and their girls: Lauren, Emily and Carolyn all of Norwell; his sister Karen, her daughter Marissa and her son Gregory all of Winthrop. Brother of Ann Fiore of Belmont, Nancy Mellen of Rockland, Christopher of San Francisco, and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins. Surely Garrett will be reunited with his beloved father John and mother Lorraine. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home SO. WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 Opp. So. Sh. Hospital) Mon. at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Helen's Church, Norwell at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell. Relatives and friends invited. To all the Winns - our hearts were broken when we heard about Gary's passing. I wish we had known in time to attend the services - you know we would have been there if we had. A memory of Gary was the hump in between our two driveways and Jody and him would put their foot on it and tell the other to "get off my property"! He will be greatly missed he was a wonderful, caring guy. As the saying goes "only the good die young" He was one the the best. Love to all - The Dwyers

I am so sorry to hear about Gary's passing. The last time we spoke was at our 30 class reunion and I was so excited to see him to have a chance to catch up. He told me about his four beautiful daughters and how they meant the world to him. Gary was and always will be a special person to me. I can only pray that time will help mend your hearts and that your memories will stay with you forever.

Annie, Karen, Jay, Nancy and Christopher. We just heard about Gary and we can't believe it. We are so sorry. We know that there are not any words or actions that we can say or do that will make it any easier for all of you but we wanted you to know that he was and will be missed by us. We will hang on to our memories of him and the family from many years ago. We will keep him, your parents and his girls in our prayers and hope you find comfort in our thoughts of you and Gary.
Love,
Christine, Jill and Janice
