Ruth Miller Obituary

Braintree Ruth A. (Barker) Miller, a resident of Braintree for the last 50 years passed away at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on Sunday, July 13, 2008. Mrs. Miller was the loving wife of the late Max Miller where they resided in Quincy. She is the loving aunt of Bernice E. Pizzi and her husband Peter of Halifax, Mark P. Pinnetti and his wife Jean of Stoughton and Michele P. Smith and her husband Stephen of Hollis, NH. Ruth was the loving great aunt of Alexis, Sean and Alicia Smith all of NH and Mark J. and Danielle Pinnetti of Stoughton and was the devoted sister of the late Mary E. Pinnetti of Weymouth. She is also predeceased by her niece Christine A. Pinnetti. Mrs. Miller was born in Cambridge, grew up in Boston, graduated from St. Christienne Academy in Salem in the eighth grade and graduated from Brighton High School in Boston in 1938. She also attended Fisher Junior College. Ruth became a hairdresser and hairdresser Instructor in 1941 and owned Marvel Beauty Salon and Quincy Beauty Academy until her retirement in 2001. Friends and relatives are invited to the funeral at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, on Friday, July 18 at 8:45 A.M., the Funeral Mass at the St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty St. in Braintree at 10 A.M. and the visiting hours on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ruth's memory to the Alzheimer's Assn., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. My aunt, Marion Pitts worked for Ruth and Max at the Marvel in Quincy many years ago. I met Ruth many times as I was a client of the salon..she was a very nice person and my aunt always spoke highly of Ruth and Max. May she rest in peace....

So sorry to hear about Ruth. My condolences to the family. We go back a long time. My husband, Jim Mastrantonio, worked for Ruth and Max for over 30 years and have many fond memories of those years. God Bless Ruth.
