Carol Brainerd Obituary

Quincy Carol Irene (Hutchings) Brainerd, died peacefully on June 16, 2008, at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of Bob Brainerd for 62 years, who survives her at their Quincy home where they have lived for the past 28 years. She was active lifelong in church, peace and social justice. She gave herself whole-heartedly to her husband and her two children, David and Madeleine, and her daughter-in-law Diane (Maricola) Brainerd, who survive her. We cherish the memories. She was devoted to her garden; she loved music, literature, animals and the planet Earth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Amnesty International USA, Northeast Regional Office, 58 Day St. Somerville, MA 02144. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 19 at 11a.m. at the United First Parish Church, 1306 Hancock St. Quincy Square.
