Ruth Quimby Obituary

Wareham Ruth Estelle (Reader) Quimby, 84, died Monday, July 14th at the Forestview Nursing Home in Wareham. She was the wife of the late John H. Quimby. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Jack H.C. and Olive (Ralph) Reader. A previous resident of Holbrook since 1952, she has lived in Plymouth for the last 20 years. Mrs. Quimby was cafeteria manager for the Holbrook School Dept. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Donald Quimby and his wife Diane of Hanson; her sister, Betty Myers of NV; her son-in-law, Eddie Matthews of Plymouth and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Judith Lynn Matthews. Her memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18th at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
