Rita E. LeBlanc

BRAINTREE Rita E. (Downs) LeBlanc, 91 years of age of Abington formerly of Braintree passed away on Tuesday July 15, 2008 at the South Shore Hospital. She was born in Boston and had resided in Braintree for 54 years before moving to Abington 3 years ago. She was a former clerical employee of the former Abrasive Company in South Braintree. For many years she had been a volunteer at the Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital. Each summer since her girlhood years she had enjoyed going to Higgins Beach in Scarborough, Maine. She was a Communicant of the Church of St. Thomas More in Braintree before moving to Abington. Among her interests was reading to her grandchildren. She is the wife on the late Ralph Louis LeBlanc who died in 1989. She is survived by a daughter with whom she made her home in Abington Mary C. Higgins married to Paul G. Higgins of Abington. A son Ralph L. LeBlanc married to Eileen C. LeBlanc of Braintree. She is survived by three grandchildren: Renee M. LeBlanc of Brighton, Juliet M. Bruce of Arlington and Michael J. Higgins of Braintree. She was the grandmother of the late Daniel P. Higgins of Abington. Rita is survived by one great-grandson Sean Higgins of Braintree. She was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. Funeral from the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE on Friday, July 18th at 8:00 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Thomas More, Elm Street and Hawthorn Road, BRAINTREE at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Braintree Cemetery.
