Maria Sussky Obituary

Weymouth Maria E. (Stevens) Sussky, age 81, died on Thursday, July 17 at the Carney Hospital in Dorchester. Born and raised in Dusseldorf, Germany She immigrated to the U.S. after marrying her husband Joseph in Regensburg, Germany in 1948 and has lived in Weymouth for many years. Mrs. Sussky worked for the Dept. of Defense in Boston for 30 years, retiring as a Contract administrator. Maria was an active and devoted parishioner of the Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth and a former Eucharistic minister at St. Anthony's Shrine on Arch St. in Boston. Beloved wife of Joseph J. Sussky. Devoted mother of Michael J. Sussky and his companion Maureen Peacock of Hingham. Beloved sister of Hans Stevens of Germany, Gertrude Johnson and her companion Leroy of Nevada, and the late Joseph Stevens. Loving Mimi of Katie Sussky and Elizabeth Sussky. Also survived by her former and loving daughter-in-law Katherine Sussky of Hanson. Funeral from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth on Monday, July 21 at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
