George Jones Obituary

Hull George H. Jones, of Hull and West Roxbury, died Monday, July 14th at the Brockton VA Nursing Home, at the age of 92. George was born April 1916 to William A. and Nellie Maude (Bleakney) Jones and grew up in Everett. He joined the Navy at age 17 and retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer after a 28 year career. George married his beloved wife, Thelma A. (Fischer) Jones, on July 2, 1947. Last year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary together with their three children: Donald, Richard, and Carolyn. George Jones loved to tend his vegetable gardens with over 20 different vegetables and enjoyed sailing his Hobie cat all around the south shore! He also enjoyed his association with the Masonic Mount Vernon Royal Arch Chapter and the Masonic Palestine Lodge, and the Bethesda Lodge #30 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. George will be missed by his 2 sons, Donald and Richard, and their wives, Sheryl and Sandra; his niece and nephew, Barbara and Eugene Alexander; his son-in-law, Greg Jones; his nephew, Robert Hoinghaus; and his 6 grandchildren: Adriane, Adam, Kimberly and her husband, Brandon, Christine, Christopher, and Bradley. George will be resting at the Forest Hills Crematory next to his beloved wife, Thelma, and daughter, Carolyn Jones. Donations can be made to the Knights Templar Eye foundation, Masonic Temple, 186 Tremont St., Boston, MA 02111. Services for the family.

Jones family, We all wish you well during these stressful times. The "guys" he always sat with all send their condolences, and speak of all the great talks they had amongst themselves. I am writing this for them since most don't know how to use a computer. I personnally had a few memorable moments with your dad over his medications. He knew what he wanted. What a spirit he had.
