Edmond Nereo Obituary

Quincy Edmond Nereo, a lifelong resident of Quincy, died Tuesday July 22 at Carney Hospital in Dorchester. He was 93. Mr. Nereo was the loving husband of the late Antoinette (Napoleone) Nereo. Born in Quincy on April 24, 1915, Mr. Nereo was the son of the late Luigi and Julieta (Costanzo) Nereo. He was a graduate of Quincy Trade School and worked at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy for several years. Mr. Nereo then joined the Quincy Police Department and retired as a Sergeant in 1978 after 30 years of service. He was also a former member of the Quincy Sons of Italy. Mr. Nero is survived by his sister Eda Benevenia of CT. He is predeceased by 4 siblings: Tullio Nereo, George Nereo, Elda Cicchese, and Oswald Nereo. Mr. Nereo is also survived by his niece Rosanne Osborne of Quincy and his nephew Arthur Napoleone of No. Attleboro. A Funeral Service will be held in the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy on Saturday July 26 at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8pm. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
