Florence Locke

Randolph Florence (Gildea) Locke, of Randolph, July 24, 2008, she was 91. Florence was born in Boston, grew up in Hyde Park, graduating from Hyde Park High and Boston Clerical. She had been a resident of Randolph since 1951. She did administrative work at the Pentagon during WWII. Along with her husband James, she was a champion roller skater and ice skater. She taught ice skating at the MDC ice rinks which included students from the Boston School for the Deaf. Beloved wife of 61 years of James P. Locke. Loving mother of Thomas J. Locke and his wife Deborah of Plymouth, Pauline A. Locke of Taunton, Janet P. Levangie and her husband John of Middleboro and the late Kenneth R. Locke. Grandmother of Amanda, Ian, Jacquelyn and Juliet. Great-grandmother of Brandon, Dylan and Iain. Sister of Dorothy Chaplain of W. Roxbury and the late Robert Gildea and Pauline Woodworth. Sister-in-law of Daniel Woodworth, Katie Gildea and the late Mary Locke, Thomas Locke and David Chaplain. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and special family friends Annette Ippolito Mayo and Carrie Holmes. Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 S. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, Monday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday, 4-7 p.m. Interment Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
