Southwest Harbor, ME Ann Dionne, of Southwest Harbor, died on Friday, July 25 at MDI Hospital, with her family by her side. Ann was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took great pride in raising her family. Ann was born on February 4, 1935 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA, to Helen Bartlett Belcher and Norman Ells Belcher. Ann and Henry Dionne came to MDI en route to Nova Scotia on their honeymoon in 1974. They fell in love with the island, skipping Nova Scotia entirely and moved here permanently in 1986. She worked as a nurses aide for many years and at MDI Hospital for a number of years before retiring. She loved gardening, horses, reading and hiking and was a member of Footloose Friends and volunteered at the Southwest Harbor Library. Ann is survived by her children Malcolm B. Sewell of Peterborough, NH, Karen E. Mafera and Gregory Sewell, both of Weymouth, MA, Diana S. Johnson of Plymouth, MA, Tamara A. Sewell of Brooklyn, NY, Joseph H. Dionne of Tremont, ME, Henry (Bob) J. Dionne, Jr. of Brunswick, ME, Nancy Medeiros of Augusta, ME, Ellen Pihl of Scituate, MA, Alfred Dionne of Hampton, NH, Michael Dionne of Rockland, MA, her brother, Norman Belcher of Las Vegas, NV, two sisters, Alma Boyle of Harwich, MA and Norma Arlington of California, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, David Sewell in 1994 and her second husband, Henry J. Dionne in 2002, a sister, Dorothy Hicks and a brother, Fred Belcher. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 29 from 4-6 at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home in Mount Desert where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Mt.
