Pauline Shaw Obituary

VERO BEACH, FLORIDA Pauline "Paulie" E. (Cote) Shaw, 85, of Vero Beach, Fl - formerly of Quincy, MA. July 27, 2008 after a short Illness. Beloved sister of Anita Columbus, departed sisters Cecile Atwell and Loretta Shuffleton, departed brothers Wilfred, Robert, Emile, and George Cote. Survived by Arthur J. and Marie Shaw, Gorton, Conn; Stephen and Donna Shaw, Hudson, NH; Cynthia and Scott Wingo, Vero Beach FL and Donna and Mark Keenan, Quincy, MA; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and significiant other Arthur Teed, Vero Beach FL. Loving aunt to many nieces, nephews and their families. Paulie grew up in So. Ashburnham, MA, completed nursing training at Leominster Hospital. She worked at Boston City Hospital caring for the victims of the Coconut Grove Fire. During her nursing career, Pauline organized and established the blood donor program at New England Baptist Hospital. Pauline married Arthur J. Shaw in 1947 and settled in Quincy. She was very active in the Houghs Neck section of Quincy involved in The Great Hill Association, Houghs Neck Congregational Church Mr. & Mrs. Club and the Mothers & Others Club, Milton Chapter of the Order of Easton Star, and the Retired Nurses Association Retiring in 1980 to Vero Beach Florida. Paulie continued being active organizing social events for the Village Green community. Providing Blood pressure clinics and shuffleboard competitions, she was also an active member of The Red Hats of Vero. She traveled frequently enjoying China, Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, Bermuda, Europe and others. A Memorial service will be held at the Houghs Neck Congregational Church 310 Manet Avenue, Quincy, Ma. August 16, 2008 at 11:00am. Donations in Memory of Pauline may be made to the Houghs Neck Congregational Church 310 Manet Avenue Quincy, Ma 02169.
