Muriel I. Nigrelli

BRAINTREE Muriel I. (Crockett) Nigrelli, 86, of Braintree, died August 4, 2008, after a long illness of Alzheimer's disease. She was the beloved wife of the late James V. Nigrelli, Sr.; loving mother of twins: Ellen Rousseau and her husband Charles of Palm Bay, FL and Maryellen Bykowski of Trumball, CT; and James V. Nigrelli, Jr. and his wife Rene of Braintree; daughter of the late Elmer Bailey of Boston and the late Harriet Woods of Poultney, VT; stepdaughter of the late William Crockett of Boston; sister of the late Frank Bailey and his wife May (dec.) of Hyde Park, MA and the late Ester (Kennedy) and her husband William (dec.) of Brockton, MA; niece of the late Marion Hanley and her husband Gilbert (dec.) of Poultney, VT. Muriel is survived by 10 loving grandchildren, and 3 wonderful great-grandchildren. Muriel was born in Roxbury, MA and educated at Roxbury Memorial High School, before moving to Braintree 56 years ago. She was an office manager for Howard Johnson's before retiring in 1975. Muriel was a volunteer at the South Shore Hospital for twenty years before retiring in the late nineties. She was involved in many civic activities including the Braintree Rotary Club. Muriel loved painting and traveling, but most of her energy was consumed by loving her family, who will sorely miss her presence in their lives. Funeral from the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St. (Route 37), Braintree, on Friday, August 8 at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Clare, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree Highlands at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Internment is in Blue Hill Cemetery.
