Charlotte Stanley Obituary

WEYMOUTH Charlotte E. Stanley, 92 years of age of Weymouth formerly of Braintree. She died at the South Shore Hospital on Monday. She was born in Boston. She had resided in Braintree for nearly sixty years before moving to Weymouth two years ago. She was a graduate of the Cambridge High and Latin School. She was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, St. Marys Guild of the Church and the Churchs Altar Guild. She was former member of the Braintree Philergians. Charlotte was an accomplished artist and was a member of the Braintree Art Association who painted in oils and watercolors. She painted principally landscapes. Over the years she had been a bookkeeper and in her earlier years she had worked for the H.M. Sanders Hardware Company in Boston. In recent years she had been a bookkeeper for the John Scott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Braintree and the Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth and for the Braintree Visiting Nurse Association. She enjoyed playing the Piano and Organ and had taken many lessons for music accomplishments. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert K. Stanley who died in 2001. She is survived by four children: Jane E. Stanley of Williamsburg and Arlington VA, Ellen L. Stanley of Cambridge, Peter R. Stanley of Worcester and John C. Stanley of Norwood. She was the sister of the late Muriel Dugmore formerly of Wakefield. In addition she leaves eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 519 Washington Street, BRAINTREE on Friday at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Father Clifford Brown Rector of Christ Church Quincy will officiate. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in Holbrook. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be sent to Emmanuel Parish, 519 Washington Street, Braintree, MA 02184.
