Richard Routier Obituary

Hanover Richard E. Routier, a retired laborer, died suddenly Tuesday, August 5 at his home in Hanover. He was 71 years old. Born and raised in Dorchester, he was a graduate of Dorchester High School. Mr. Routier served in the US Air Force and returned to Dorchester. He joined the Laborers Local 223, where he was a member for 37 years, retiring in 1992. He worked for Farina Co. of Newton for many years. Mr. Routier enjoyed sports, gardening, bicycling and the outdoors. He recently moved to Hanover. Loving father of Michelle and her husband Bill Gordon, Robert Routier and Michael Routier, all of Hanover and Bethany Routier of Quincy. Brother of Barbara Christopher of CT, Robert H. Routier of VT and Paula Routier of Wakefield. Former husband of Noreen (Kyle) Routier of Hanover. Richard is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, Dorchester, Friday August 8 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
