I just heard of Dan's death today. Lillian, I am so sorry. I want you to know that I thought about both of you often all these years, and you're in my prayers. Both of you were like parents to me. I would love to know how to contact you.

Mrs. Hart and Dan
I am so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I just read it today. Dan was a terrific husband, father, boss and person. He did so much for the disadvantaged that most will never know about. His generosity and kindness is an inspiration to me every day. He was the consummate giver of his time, his resources and his knowledge. Knowing Dan Hart is one of the highlights of my life. I am saddened that I missed saying good bye. God Bless Dan Hart.

My condolences to the Hart family. My father worked with Danny at Spencer Shoe. He called to tell me of Dans passing and to send his condolences. To this day my family still tells a Danny Hart story. I was working a summer job at Spencer Shoe when I was seventeen, some twenty three years ago. I had taken one of the V.P.s cars to get it washed for Danny only to get in an accident. The only problem was I hadnt gotten my license yet. When I returned to Spencer after mentioning Dannys name and being released by the Boston PD. I went in Dannys office to tell him what had happened. Within a half an hour I was in Dorchester with a State Trooper in my car as he wrote me my license. In those days it took months to get a license appointment. It took Danny 15 minutes. The test consisted of me driving around the block while the trooper wrote my new license. Danny could get anything done with a simple phone call. I hope my little story brings a smile to your families faces. Rest in peace Danny -you will be missed.

Mr. Hart,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Sincere condolences to Lillian and Dan and extended family. My memorories of Dan are strong and positive. As a Lingard Street neighbor, he brought cheer and good sense to the operation of St. Paul's Center. In this and so many ways he was a guide to many of us.
