David Cormier Obituary

Sierra Vista, AZ David J. Cormier, 65, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2008 in Sierra Vista Arizona. David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy (Brown) and son James and his wife JoAnna, all of Hereford, AZ. He was the son of Harold and Betty Cormier, and brother of James. He also leaves his sisters Paula Marchbanks, her husband Ed, niece Sharon, nephews, Edward and Eric of Weymouth, MA and Pamela Corey, her husband Philip, nephew David and niece, Elizabeth, of Exeter NH. David served for over 20 years in the Air Force and spent time in Texas, Alaska, Maine, Maryland, Florida and Vietnam. On retirement, he worked for 20 years at Ball Aerospace in Boulder, Colorado. David loved seeing the United States from behind the wheel of his many RVs over the course of his life and made many friends throughout these journeys. He was an avid softball player, bowler and golfer. He recently made his first hole in one this past January. David was laid to rest at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista on July 11, 2008, after a moving service with full military honors, overlooking the beautiful Sierra Vista Mountains and Arizona desert. His sisters would like to honor David by having a gathering at Paulas home at 4 Friend Street, Weymouth for his family and friends. Please join us as we celebrate the memory and life of David on August 16th from 2:00 to 6:00.

Dear Nancy, Thank you for letting me know that your husband would be remembered in the QPL this week. I appreciated learning more about him by reading this obituary today and chuckled upon reading the 'Sunday donuts and coffee' message from one of his many friends. It must have been yet another shared Cormier 'tradition.' I hope my Dad and your husband -- the two newest Cormier angels -- are enjoying them together in heaven! Love, "Cousin" Chris
