George Hodgdon Obituary

Quincy George J. Hodgdon, of Quincy, passed away at home on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at age 84. Born in Boston where he was raised and educated, he lived many years in Weymouth and Plymouth, and for the past 9 years in Quincy. A WWII vet of the Army Air Corps, George retired from Polaroid where he worked as a mechanic for 25 years. The beloved husband of the late Mary Elizabeth (Kelcourse) Hodgdon, he is the beloved father of William Hodgdon of Quincy and Mary Theresa Harris. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Quincy Point on Thursday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are omitted. Burial is in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Arrangements are under the direction of Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center. Mr. Hodgdon,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
