William Zaks Obituary

Quincy William W. Zaks, age 91, of Quincy, died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Zaks was born in Brockton, raised and educated in Quincy schools. He graduated from Quincy High School and from Bentley College. He had lived most of his life in Quincy. He worked as an accountant for the Bethlehem Steel Company in East Boston for 42 years, and he retired many years ago. He was an active member of the YMCA of Quincy. He enjoyed bowling and gardening, and was also an avid fisherman. Beloved husband of the late Helen J. (Babbs) Zaks. Loving father of William J. Zaks and his wife Deborah of North Dakota. Brother of Arlene S. Wysocki of Quincy and Wanda T. Maciejewski of Braintree. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Longtime devoted friend of Ethel Stanewich of Roslindale. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave., Quincy, Thursday, August 21st at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Wednesday, 4-8 p.m. Interment Saint Marys Cemetery, West Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Zaks memory may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA 02184.
