James Halloran Obituary

North Falmouth James P. Halloran, of North Falmouth, formerly of Braintree, after a period of failing health, died at the age of 73. James was the husband of the late Barbara (Kelley) Halloran and the loving father and father-in-law of Mark K. Halloran and his wife Carol Halloran of Lakeville, Anne H. Charette and her husband Norman Charette of Bridgewater, James P. Halloran and his wife Karen Halloran of Nashua, N.H., Beth Sullivan and her husband Michael Sullivan of Southborough and John F. Halloran and his wife Lauren Halloran of Laguna Beach, CA. He is survived by his sister Ann Gallagher of North Falmouth and was loving grandfather of ten grandchildren: Courtney and Sean Halloran; Peter and Kelley Charette; James and Jennifer Halloran; Caroline and Bridget Sullivan and Ryan and Quinn Halloran. Mr. Halloran was a lifelong resident of North Falmouth and enjoyed his role as uncle to his many nieces and nephews in the area. Of the many things he enjoyed in his life were golfing, boating, his close family and friends and the College of the Holy Cross, his beloved alma mater of 1956. He served as Commodore of the Megansett Yacht Club, had been a member of the Pocasset Golf Club in Pocasset, Jonathans Landing in Jupiter, FL and Milton Hoosic Club in Milton, MA. He was Executive Vice President of Century Paper Company, served on many boards including the Weyerheuser Advisory Board, was a Director of the Braintree Cooperative Bank and served Navy from1956 to 1960. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, South Braintree until 9:30 a.m. Saturday August 23 followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Braintree Square. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Should friends desire and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of Cape Cod, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, Ma 02601. Dear Halloran family, Reading of Jim's death was a great shock to us. Lou Nack, Jim and I were great friends and roommates starting in 1952 with many great memories lasting over the years. May Jim rest in peace!
