Ario DiBona Obituary

Braintree Ario L. DiBona, age 92, passed away on Friday at the South Shore Hospital. He was born and raised in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School. He was a retired machinist at the Fore River Shipyard, for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation and for the General Dynamics Corporation. In earlier years he had been a wood refinisher for furniture companies in Brockton. Both he and his wife, Stacia DiBona enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and in Mexico, Hawaii and Bermuda. The family enjoyed long walks on the beach at Duxbury and also on Wollaston Beach. Ario was one of the early members of the Parish of St. Thomas More in Braintree. Both he and his wife were communicants of the church for over sixty years. He is survived by his wife Stacia L. (Bielskis) DiBona to whom he has been married for sixty-five years. They were long time residents of Elmlawn Road in Braintree. He is survived by a daughter Claudia M. Hennigan of Hanover and a son Damien D. DiBona of Somerville. He is survived by three grandchildren, Timothy R. Hennigan, Jr. of Pembroke, Theresa Bonnyman of Halifax and Jennifer C. Giles of Maui, Hawaii. His great-grandchildren are Ryan T. Hennigan, Alyssa R. Hennigan, Kyle Bonnyman, Sean Bonnyman, Quinn Bonnyman, and Zachariah Giles. Ario was the brother of the late Rebello DiBona, Tulio "Al" DiBona and Vilma DiBona. His funeral will be the Mortimer N. Peck- Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, BRAINTREE, on Tuesday, August 26, at 8:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Thomas More, Elm Street and Hawthorn Road in BRAINTREE at 9:00A.M. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours will be today (Monday) August 25th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown MA 02472 or to the South Shore Hospital, 55 Fogg Road, South Weymouth MA 02190.
