John Sweet Obituary

Plymouth John R. Sweet of Plymouth, formerly of Dorchester, August 25, John R. beloved husband of Frances E. (Fullam). Loving father of Thomas R. of Las Vegas, John J. of Cohasset, Kathy Powers of Michigan, Linda Eckman of Plymouth and Jeanne Lyons of Virginia, Grandfather of 10. Born in Boston, September 21, 1926, a son of the late John E. and Jeannette (Trabucco) Sweet. A graduate of Hyde Park High School. He served with the US Marine Corp. during WWII. He had worked as repairmen for Automatic Laundries in Newton. He enjoyed gardening, baseball and politics. Funeral from the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, on Friday at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bonaventure Church Manomet at 11:00 am. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-7 pm only. Burial in the MA National Cemetery Bourne. Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 85 Astor Ave. Suite 2, Norwood, MA. 02062. I new Richie many years ago when we were barely teenagers. We lived on Mora St and he lived a couple of streets over. I am sorry for your loss, Richie was a good guy. All of us here in California remember him well.

Mr. Sweet,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USMC during WW II. It was the history and accomplishments made by you and your fellow Marines back then that all of us Marines who followed in your footsteps have always tried to live up to. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
