Joseph Resendes Obituary

WEYMOUTH Joseph F. Resendes, age 83, of Weymouth, passed away at the South Shore Hospital in So. Weymouth, on Monday, September 1, 2008. He was born in New Bedford, most of his life a resident of Weymouth. Graduate of Weymouth High School, class of 1943. Veteran of WWII, served with the U.S. Navy and also veteran of the Korean War, served with the U.S. Army. Retired in 1984 as a Supervisor with New England Telephone Co. after 35 years of service. Member of the Telephone Pioneers, Weymouth Knights of Columbus #729 and the American Legion Post #79. Beloved husband of the late Ann E. (Halnan) Resendes. Devoted son of the late Manuel and Blanche (Richards) Resendes. Loving brother of Doris Delorey of Weymouth and her late husband William Delorey. Brother-in-law of Mary McKinney of Weymouth, Margaret Halnan of Leominster and the late William McKinney. Cousin of Joseph Correia of New Bedford. Also survived by 4 nieces and 7 nephews. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, E. WEYMOUTH, on the corner of Middle and Charles Sts. (at Central Sq.) Thursday at 8 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, E. Weymouth at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations may be made in Joseph's memory to Immaculate Conception Church, 1199 Commercial St., East Weymouth, MA 02189. Please visit our website at McDonald-funeralhomes.com
