Richard Lockwood Obituary

PEMBROKE Richard L. "Dick" Lockwood of Pembroke, devoted husband of Eleanor R. Lockwood, passed away on August 31, 2008. He was 71 years old. After graduating from Saugus High School in 1955, Dick enlisted in the United States Navy. He worked as a printer at the Boston Herald for over 40 years, and was also an accomplished candlepin bowler. Dick is survived by his wife, Eleanor, and sons Matthew J. Lockwood and Joseph R. Lockwood of Pembroke. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rt. 14) Pembroke. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MSPCA-Angell, Development Center, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130. My dear sister Eleanor and beloved nephews Matthew & Joey - I am so sorry for your loss. Dick was a fine man, fun to be around, and a true gentleman; he will be sorely missed. God bless you during this difficult time. Cindy and I are always here for you.
